Building a member intelligence platform for a 1,200-person entrepreneur community
The client
Founders Club is a community of 1,200+ entrepreneurs. Their community team manages member relationships, facilitates introductions, organizes masterminds, and drives retention. Before this project, all of this was manual. Notion databases, spreadsheets, and tribal knowledge.
The problem
The community team had no way to quickly understand a member before a call. Who are they? What do they need? What did they promise to do last time? What did the team commit to? Everything was scattered across Notion records, Fathom call recordings, and Slack conversations with no connection between them.
Matching members for introductions was done by memory and gut feel. Creating balanced mastermind groups meant manually reviewing 30+ profiles at a time. When a member churned, the team often did not see it coming.
What we built
Unified Member Intelligence Profiles
Every member gets a continuously updated structured profile built from multiple data sources. Business snapshot, personal context, current goals, challenges, what they offer peers, what they need from peers, engagement history, and sentiment trends. All extracted automatically from Notion records, Fathom call transcripts, and Slack activity.
Connection Engine
An AI-powered matching system that calculates member compatibility based on goals, gives and asks, industry, and conversation history. User-centered configuration allows each community team member to have their own matching presets, with the ability to save global presets for the whole team.
Fathom Call Processing
Over 1,000 recorded calls are ingested, categorized, and analyzed to extract gives, asks, action items, and context for follow-up calls. The system identifies what each member promised to do and what the community team committed to. Nobody walks into a call blind.
Mastermind Group Formation
AI-assisted group creation based on member compatibility, goals, and engagement patterns. The system proposes balanced groups of 6 to 8 members with a rationale for each grouping. A human reviews, adjusts, and confirms before finalization.
The results
“The community team went from manually searching Notion to having AI-powered member queries. Ask a question about members in a location, industry, or with specific goals, and get instant answers.”
